What are Shipping Profiles?
Shipping Profiles are a tool Shopify have introduced to help customize your shipping settings using the default Shopify Shipping rules. The Shipping Profiles are still a work in progress for Shopify and they do lend themselves well to shipping setups using the Better Shipping app. We are in contact with the Shipping Profiles team at Shopify to bring in a more powerful interface which we can use to make Better Shipping even more flexible and functional! Does Better Shipping support Shipping Profiles?
Currently Better Shipping can only support the General Profile. However, as Shopify continues to work on the shipping profiles we will be able to take advantage of the extra functionality of multiple shipping profiles in the future.
The Better Shipping app can do almost all the things multiple delivery profiles can do inside the app, using just your General profile. We just do that using shipping rates instead of multiple delivery profiles. So for the majority of shipping scenarios you don't need multiple delivery profiles when using Better Shipping.
Currently, using multiple shipping profiles can result in multiple shipping rates being generated at the checkout. We are in contact with the Shopify Shipping profiles team about this issue, and are working together to find a solution.

How should I set up my Shipping Profiles for Better Shipping?
The Better Shipping app can do almost everything the shipping profiles can do using just the General Profile.
To use Better Shipping, you will want to have all of your products on your General Profile. If you haven't set up a new shipping profile in your ShopifyAdmin->Settings->Shipping settings, then all your products will be in the general profile by default and there is nothing more you need to do.
If you do have multiple Shipping Profiles set up. You will need to remove the products from those profiles.This will move them back to the General Profile.
To remove the products from a shipping profile, go to your ShopifyAdmin->Settings->Shipping and delivery settings, under the "Custom shipping rates for products" section, find each of your custom profiles and click "Manage rates".
On the profile page, click the "X" next to each of the products, which will remove them from this profile, and back on to the General Profile. Click save to save your changes.
Once all the products are back on your General Profile, if you go back in to your ShopifyAdmin->Settings->Shipping and delivery settings page, and on the "General shipping rates" section, click "Manage".
You can then set up your shipping zones as usual (more information how to do that on the Shopify Shipping Zone Help page), making sure the Better Shipping App is added as one of the carriers in your zones.
